Grantsburg 24 - Webster 0
Now tell me..... How many times do you play a softball game and only make 6 outs? And when is the last time you ever scored over 50 runs in a row..... That doesn't even happen at church league! But the Pirates are rolling. Last night Webster was welcomed to the Grantsburg field and the sun was shining.... a vote for spring softball. In the course of the last 3 games, Grantsburg has been wearing out home plate as they enjoy the softer part of the schedule.
Elise only got to pitch two innings last night so the 6 strikeouts proved to be her season low. Webster was not able to hit the ball fair. Whitney finished up the third and last inning combining for a second no-hitter for the three inning game.
Highlights of the game include Nell scoring four times and collecting three hits. Susan scored 3 times and banged one to the fence. Elise scored four times on 1 hit and 3 walks. Jamie is starting to Heat it up and scored 4 times with three hits and a walk. Megan scored twice. Kerissa scored three times. Katie, Katie and Ashley combined for the other 5 runs. The Pirates picked up 11 hits in the two times at bat.
TWIS: The sunflower seeds are back. Thanks Russ for keeping score. We have water to the dugout, but it is squirting out like little fountains. The bathrooms are finally thawed out and open. The windscreen is windy. Thanks Mike for the work on the field. I think Buddy's voice is getting softer...or my ears are getting worse. Kerissa has great black and blue marks.... Sara is Sarah...oops. Hope you enjoyed the rosters. We have color versions for the players. The roster will also soon be available online.. Jamie is doing a great job at catcher and is now starting to rip it up with the bat. This is Prom.... perhaps, we have won our last game. Sorry about the lack of pictures... Usually, I wait until about the third inning to take shots... but everybody left. So the fire alarm went off a few times last night.... Little wrestlers hanging on the handles....I have been working on my patience...I want to write more but I have to be gone...so please come back tomorrow...Please take care.... My little clowns all warmly say hi! One of them actually popped. Today I spent the day at the movie theater and then the St. Croix Park. An eagle flew above.. I waved. It smiled back at me. Nell and Elise are currently at a 500 batting average with Jamie closing quickly at 480..... Great stats!! and.....even though it was 2.5 innings, the game counts...so it also counts as a Perfect game...... 9 batters...9 outs
I am not tired, yet! gg
and I never will be.
