Pirates dance the bases....again.... with 19 runs...

The Northwood Super said that if his team couldn't beat us, he would leave the country….He is gone… In the past few years, there has been a good friendly rivalry between the two teams, but last night it was no contest. Last night was the end of the regular season and Grantsburg begins to prepare for Webster. It was parent's night in Grantsburg. All players were announced before the game and got a hug from their mom or dad. Paul K was there 30 minutes early, but made a quick trip so katie K hugged him when he came…. The tournament game will be home on Thursday night. Bring your friends…the tickets are cheap.
Hi Brynn...You are now my favorite catcher.... now go back to the first page and email me something...
The 2003 fastpitch team is leaving a major mark on the record book. There are many individual year records, total career records, and team total records that will fall. One thing that has been easy this year is scoring runs. With a current record of 18 wins, the Pirates will most likely break the "most wins in a year record." With 3 players batting at or above .500 and Susan on a hot streak, the Pirates are averaging over 10 runs a game. Last night, 10 runs came in the first inning. All non-starters came in the second inning.
Nell walked to start the game. That in itself is very rare.. Usually she gets a hit. Then Suzy Q stepped up and doubled for the 4th time in her last 10 at bats. Jamie joined in with a hit and Katie W. walked. After two outs, Grantsburg scored 9 more to make the score 10-0 after just 1 inning. The Northwood pitchers had a hard time finding the strike zone and walked 17 Pirates in the 4 times that they batted. Grantsburg actually only had 7 hits. Susan and Jamie had two apiece with Nell, Elise, and Kerissa getting the rest. Whit and Ashley were hit by pitches, but nothing compared to the drilling Jamie took at River Falls. That…. Was a good hit. It is still resounding in the valleys of the river.....
Northwood ended the game with 1 run that was scored in the 7th inning. For the game Elise allowed 1 run on 3 hits and 2 walks. The game ended by the 10 run rule after 5 innings.
TWIS: Parent's night was nice. The Bruce coach reads this stuff just for entertainment. Bruce is not a guy, it is a town… Sort of like Clayton who is a guy but not a town. Do you think Bruce ever plays Clayton? It would be kind of like Eddie Feigner… but missing 3 players. Can you come out and play today?gg Why did Northwood keep throwing to first when we had runners on second? Where was Molly? Nobody else had run the scoreboard…. In the new dugout next year should we have heaters?.. How about a bathroom? With no mirror, of course… I think you were hiding last night.gggg But, I knocked. It was nice to see soo many alumni at the game. Remember, the alumni game is Monday night at 5:00 and I hope you all can come… Mention it to the other alumni that can't necessarily read. I went and watched matt's game last night… I think they need some baserunning tips… so have you ever been hit by a ball and it swells up?gg Ice will bring the swelling down…any other remedies for reducing swelling? Friday is the senior class trip and they will be gone. Awards night.... the other night was very nice… the softball team cleaned up. Congratulations on the awards. So you are taking lessons?gg that worries me. We almost had a legit double play last night. We will get one. And Elise….wow!!! what a catch. Now when you watch it in slow motion…..Elise sees the ball….checks her glove, but drops it on the ground… We see Susan and Nell yelling NOOOOOO in slow motion….Elise picks up the glove….mouths the words…"you got nothing"….and calmly catches the ball behind her back…..then Jamie pushes her over….and everybody laughs....again... By the way.. I think Elise should just pitch the ball when she throws to first. Not bad! And now for some deep mindless thoughts.ggg The sun gives me energy every day and it doesn't know. It warms me and adds color to my life. I can and will feel the effects every day.
TYFWM.
