Grantsburg charged into tournament play by trouncing Turtle Lake one more time by a score of 15-0. Nothing would go well for Turtle Lake. The one runner that crossed the plate forgot to touch it, so the umpire declared her out. At one point in the game, a Laker thought she was out and went to the dugout..... soon the alert Grantsburg team pulled off an unusual delayed double play.

Grantsburg did start slowly. They were held scoreless in the first inning. In the second inning Caroline walked as did Brandi and Doni Jo. After a couple more walks by Heather and Callie, Susan singled to bring in a pair. Caroline tripled to left to bring in another pair. When the inning had ended, the Pirates had a comfortable 7-0 lead. They continued the barrage in the third. Jess lined a single to left. Jocelyn walked and Heather picked up a single to push them along. The Pirates picked up four more runs to make an 11 run lead. Four more runs came in the 4th with hits by Heather, Callie, and Kelcy. Grantsburg would win 15-0.

TWIS: Tournament play required Grantsburg to limit its roster to 18 players. Congratulations graduates! Get a visitor's pass and come to practice. Callie pitched her second no-hitter of the year. We are now moving into the next phase of the tournament. We play Northwood at home on Tuesday night. It should be a great game. Expect a huge crowd. I had a good afternoon. I even did some writing in the sand.
